When a Utah housewife's Amalga brand artificial heart suddenly chooses to stop working properly, the incident appears at first to be a freak accident. Civilization soon learns how technology dependent they really are though, when a string of similar incidents occur bringing the world to its knees.

Robotic limbs and organs suddenly rebel against their hosts creating a new herald in man kind's struggle against artificial intelligence.

Beware the life saving artificial heart. It may be biding its time.
